Troubling Times
At Kindelan McDanal & Associates, our psychologists and counselors have dedicated their careers to helping those in need; no matter who it is or why they come to us. Today, our communities are hurting more than ever.
Widespread social unrest. Racial protests fueled by injustice, bathed in sadness and anger, are starting to bring needed difficult conversations and self-reflections to our communities. We confront our collective image in the mirror – again, over how we treat people of color. And we come up short — again.
We stand with those who are angry. Those who demand change. Those who demand simply to be treated like everyone else. We are working to help heal those who are wounded. And we will be among those in the community who work together to move us forward.
And of course, this social unrest unfolds in the wake of a global pandemic ravaging our communities.
Stresses, loss, and social isolation hit us all in wave after wave of bad news and disruption. The virus spreading through our communities is taking lives of the most vulnerable among us.
And for nearly all of us, it has taken something, all too often, more than one something. Schools shut down, jobs lost, businesses closed. Canceled graduations, proms, weddings, vacations, plans, all of our plans. Few are spared completely.
All of this is carries a toll on our mental health. The staff at Kindelan McDanal is here for you. Please reach out if you would like to get support for this or other issues by calling 863-877-1855, or visit us at kindmcd.com. And the American Psychological Association put together resources here to help us all learn and understand what we are confronting about race in our society.
