Dr. Robert Ryan

Dr. Robert A. Ryan is a pre-licensed clinical psychologist completing his post-doctoral residency. Dr. Ryan has an M.A. in Criminal Justice and Terrorism Studies from John Jay, M.S. and Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Florida Institute of Technology and he completed his Pre-Doctoral Internship at the Central Texas Veterans Administration in Waco. He has more than 5 years of experience helping adolescents and adults navigate stress, relationships, and self-improvement.

Dr. Ryan provides trauma-informed care from a psychodynamic lens helping clients to understand their struggles, identify recurring unhelpful dynamics, and empower change through collaboration. He uses an eclectic approach to meet clients where they are, drawing on principles from Transference Focused Psychotherapy (TFP), Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT).
With specialized training in treating PTSD and complex PTSD (cPTSD), Dr. Ryan is experienced working with first responders, combat veterans, military sexual trauma survivors, and anyone who has endured life events that continue to affect them in a negative way.

Dr. Ryan has a professional yet casual demeanor that allows him to create a space of safety, comfort, and exploration with clients across the lifespan. Having been a first responder himself, Dr. Ryan understands the challenges faced by these professionals both on and off the job. Whether in individual, couples, or family therapy, Dr. Ryan is committed to helping you reduce suffering, achieve your goals, and live your best life.
